What do you prioritise in your life? You always have a choice, ALWAYS. You may not like the other option, however the choice still exists. This is where priority comes in. If you were to look at where you are in your life right now and what you could change to make your life even better, you’ll probably come up with a list of reasons and excuses as to why you couldn’t.
Do you prioritise a brand new handbag over investing in your health and well-being? Or
hours of pointless TV and the self-proclaimed need for 9 hours of sleep over actually starting your business idea?
The truth is this, you are where you are in your life because of your own habits/ patterns and through your creation. Life doesn’t happen to us; it is us that creates the life that we live. Now I get that this point may be controversial and hit a nerve with a few people. To be honest, I’m glad that it does, because then it means it might move you to take action.
To make change is simple, not easy but simple. You have to be willing to become comfortable with being uncomfortable. This, to many is scary and I can completely get that, however that’s the point. You will never grow and develop by being complacent. If that were the case, then you wouldn’t be in the situation you’re currently in right now.
I see many people on a daily basis who are happy to make change as long as it comes in the form of a simple harmless, non-committal pill. If it’s quick and easy and I don’t have to dig up buried fears, emotions and values then sign me up. I hate to be the bearer of bad new BUT this doesn’t exist, if you find it then please do tell.
The sooner you realise that your fears, worries and excuses are nothing more than an illusion that you have created for yourself, the sooner you can completely rid yourself of them.
The takeaway from this is, if you want to start developing, growing and progressing; If you want to live that life that you truly desire or reach that goal that you had always set your sights on, then begin prioritising YOU. Make the change that makes the difference. Will you let people control the outcome of your life or will you reclaim your rightful control? It is your life after all isn’t it?
